Purchasing inflatable canoes as opposed to buying traditional models has become an increasing trend over the past few years. Consumers are discovering the many advantages that these inflatable craft have over the aluminum and wooden models. Due to the increased demand for these products, many companies are branching out into their production.

One of the less expensive inflatable canoes on the market is the Rio Canoe that is manufactured by Sevylor. This craft is 9’7” and weighs 25 lbs. It is made of PVC material and has the shape of a traditional North American Indian canoe with its raised bow and stern. This canoe is ideal for use in rough waters as well as lakes and oceans. The B801 Inflatable Canoe is manufactured by Stearns and is 11’6” in length and also consists of a fabric-skin frame made out of 600 Denier polyester and heavy-duty tarpaulin. It weighs 39 lbs. and has five air chambers in its design. This model also comes with two tracking fins to improve its maneuverability and two protective abrasion rails on the sides. The B801 Inflatable Canoe costs approximately $360.

SOAR Inflatable's also manufactures two models of smaller canoes. These are the SOARcat and the S12. Both of these models are 12’ in length and are made of Hypalon.
The SOARcat weighs 28 lbs. while the S12 weighs 52 lbs. The SOARcat costs approximately $1050 while the S12 runs around $1530.

Another model of inflatable canoes is the Vagabond Inflatable Canoe that is manufactured by Innova Recreational Products. This craft is 12’ 6” in length and weighs 38 lbs. It also consists of a fabric-skin frame and costs approximately $1250.

Innova Recreational also manufacturers the Orinoco Inflatable Canoe which is 13’ 4” in length and weighs 55 lbs. This model also has a fabric-skin frame and costs around $2000.

SOAR Inflatable's also offers two larger models of canoes, the S 14 and the S 16. The S 14 is 14’ long while the S 16 is 16’. They are both made of Hypalon and weigh 60 and 68 lbs. respectively. The cost for the S 14 model is approximately $1700 while the S 16 costs almost $1900.
