Don't Think that You are Able to Afford a Boat for Weekend Getaways?
Why Not Consider The Many Advantages of a Rigid Inflatable Boat
Are you an avid outdoorsman that would love to own your own boat but don’t think that you
can afford this luxury? A rigid inflatable boat may be the answer. This sturdy and buoyant
watercraft is more affordable than their aluminum counterparts and can provide hours of boating pleasure. Most models require much less storage
space than regular boats, so there is no storage or mooring fees involved. Transporting these boats is usually more easily accomplished and there
are few maintenance and upkeep requirements when dealing with these watercrafts.
While fully inflatable boats are less expensive, their design may curtail you if you wish to dive or fish. The rigid
inflatable versions are much more versatile. Some of the simpler models of this watercraft are lightweight and are just as easy to maneuver in
shallow water as in white water rapids. These boats usually have the traditional soft seats and floor and are ideal if you just wish to
participate in general boating.
There are also more extravagant rigid inflatable boats that you may be interested in purchasing. There are sturdier models of these boats
that are ideal to do some fishing by offering wooden seats and floors. This design can also enable you to mount a motor on your rigid inflatable
boat. Some of these models still offer the convenience of fitting in the trunk of your car. The wooden floors allow you to easily stand to
perform some awesome casting. Unlike the soft floors in a fully-inflatable boat, you can even bring your dog along for the ride without the worry
of his paws tearing a hole in the floor.
The most expensive of the rigid inflatable boats have a completely rigid hull and floor and are surrounded by an inflatable collar. These models
offer the highest speed and stability, although disassembly may not be possible. Most of these rigid hull boats are 13 to 28 ft. long and weigh
much more than the fully inflatable version, although most still weigh less than their aluminum counterparts. Because of the inflatable collars,
you can also maintain buoyancy even if you take on a large amount of water.
Rigid inflatable boats are often used as rescue craft and safety boats because of their speed, maneuverability, and decreased amount of damage in
low speed collisions. These models are also used as diving and fishing boats on larger boats due to the small amount of storage that they
require.
Many of these rigid inflatable boats with motor attachments are designed with deep-V hydroplaning hulls that are excellent for hydroplaning. Due
to their lower weight and maneuverability, these models often perform better than their aluminum counterparts and are able to cope with rough
water better.
The more expensive rigid inflatable boats may also come with wheelhouses that can offer protection to the crew and equipment alike. Many of these
apparatus are removable so when the rain stops and the sunshine returns, you can just take it down and pack it away. Small cabins are also
available that can accommodate two people and may even include sea toilets and chemicals.
So if you have dreamed of owning a boat but worry about the cost and expense of such an endeavor, a rigid inflatable boat may be the answer to
your prayers.
